Maricopa County Animal Care & Control is dedicated to serving the people and pets of our community by fostering a safe environment and reducing the homeless pet population. We believe every pet deserves a chance to be loved, safe, and tucked into a warm, permanent home.

As one of the nation's largest open-admission shelters, we operate as a vital community resource to help lost, surrendered, and stray dogs find their way home. Our work is driven by a commitment to compassionate animal welfare and the strengthening of the human-animal bond throughout Maricopa County.
How We Care
We provide a dedicated space for animals in need through our East and West Valley Centers, as well as our Everyday Adoption Center in Scottsdale. Our team works tirelessly to ensure every animal receives routine medical care, including spay/neuter services and microchipping, while relying on a network of volunteers and foster heroes to provide essential enrichment and temporary homes.
