At HOPE Animal Shelter & Sanctuary, we are dedicated to reducing the suffering of homeless cats and dogs by providing a compassionate, enriching environment and securing loving, permanent homes for every animal in our care.
Established in 2006, HOPE was Tucson’s first no-kill shelter and sanctuary. We were founded to provide a safe haven for pets that traditional municipal shelters could not accommodate, including elderly animals, those with chronic illnesses, and at-risk pets in need of more time and specialized care.
We provide a cage-free, sanctuary-style environment where animals are housed in large, comfortable community rooms that encourage natural socialization. Our facility is a place where sick and injured animals are nurtured with professional veterinary care and where every resident is treated with dignity, respect, and kindness until they find their forever family.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are committed to helping you make the right match for your home and lifestyle. Our dedicated adoption counselors work closely with you throughout the process, providing support during the transition to ensure a happy, lasting relationship for both you and your new pet.
We invite you to experience the warmth of our community by visiting the shelter Tuesday through Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in volunteering, or simply want to learn more, we would love to meet you and help you find your new best friend.
