At The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary, our mission is to advocate for the welfare of all cats. We are dedicated to creating a world where every cat enjoys a permanent, loving home and the concept of euthanasia for convenience is entirely non-existent.
Our Journey Since 1965
Founded by Sister Theresa Seraphim, we have served as a vital refuge for at-risk cats and kittens in Tucson for over six decades. As the first no-kill animal shelter in Arizona, we remain committed to protecting cats in need and providing them with a happy, healthy life.
A Model Cage-Free Sanctuary
We believe every cat is an individual deserving of exceptional care, which is why we operate a 9,000 square foot, cage-free sanctuary. Our residents live in open, comfortable surroundings—complete with enclosed outdoor 'catios'—where they receive top-tier medical attention in our dedicated in-house suite. By focusing on preventative care and chronic condition management, we ensure our 300+ residents thrive while they wait for their forever families.
