The Humane Society of Wickenburg is dedicated to enriching the lives of animals and enhancing the lives of people by joining them in loving relationships. We actively encourage responsible pet ownership through public awareness, humane education, and compassionate care.
What started in 2004 as a grassroots effort by volunteers caring for abandoned animals in downtown barn stalls has blossomed into a full-scale reality. In February 2009, we opened our 6,707 square-foot shelter facility to provide exceptional care for those in need. Today, we remain a proudly independent, non-profit organization serving Wickenburg and our surrounding rural areas.
As a no-kill shelter, we rely solely on the generosity of private donations and grant funding to support our daily operations. Our dedicated team provides a safe harbor for hundreds of animals, while our specialized programs—like the AniMeals initiative and feral cat services—extend our reach deep into the community. From our facility to our dedicated foster homes, every animal receives the medical attention, vaccinations, and love they need to thrive before finding their forever family.
Adoption is a beautiful journey that transforms both the pet and the person. Our adoption process is designed to ensure a lasting, joyful partnership by carefully matching the unique needs of each pet with the right home environment. Whether you are searching for a new best friend or looking to support our mission, we are here to guide you every step of the way with patience and care.
You can make a difference today by exploring our adoptable dogs and cats or by visiting our HSW Thrift Shop. We invite you to connect with us, learn more about our volunteer opportunities, or simply stop by to see the incredible pets currently awaiting their next chapter. Together, we are creating a community where every animal is cherished.
