Good Shepherd Humane Society is dedicated to caring for the stray, abandoned, and unwanted dogs and cats of Carroll County, Arkansas. We strive to place as many animals as possible into loving homes while promoting responsible pet ownership and humane treatment for all.
Founded in 1974 by a small group of concerned citizens, we have grown over the last five decades into the only no-kill shelter in Carroll County. Today, we proudly serve our community as an industry-leading organization, solely supported by generous public donations and local funding.
We believe in providing the highest standard of care for our residents while they await their forever families. Our dogs enjoy climate-controlled, double-sided runs with daily outdoor access and enrichment, while our cats reside in comfortable communal rooms. Our dedicated, certified staff and contract veterinarian ensure that every animal receives the medical attention and socialization they need to thrive.
Our progressive adoption program is centered on matching good pets with good people. By providing vaccinated, fixed, and vetted animals, we help create lasting bonds while simultaneously undermining puppy mills and irresponsible pet sales. We invite you to visit our adoption center to meet your new best friend; you do not need an appointment to begin the journey of finding your perfect companion.
Your support is the heartbeat of our organization, allowing us to help over 700 animals find a second chance each year. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer, or donate, your involvement helps us build a more compassionate community for pets and people alike. Please reach out to us today to see how you can make a difference.
