Our Mission
The Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League (HSVAWL) is a dedicated, all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to placing rescued and surrendered animals into loving, forever homes. We work tirelessly to prevent the overpopulation of unwanted pets, ensuring every adoptable cat and dog receives the care and compassion they deserve.
A History of Compassion
For 35 years, our community has supported our mission to save lives. Founded in 1991 by eight passionate residents, we have grown from a small group into a robust rescue organization that has proudly operated as a no-kill shelter since 2014, achieving save rates well above 90%.
Our Commitment to Care
As an all-volunteer organization, we rely entirely on the kindness of our members, donors, and grants to sustain our operations. We work cooperatively with the Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association (POA) to rescue and vet animals, providing them with a safe environment while they wait for their new families. Our focus remains on the well-being of every pet, ensuring each one receives proper medical attention, including spay/neuter services and microchipping.
