The Humane Society of Pulaski County is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing essential veterinary care to local dogs and cats in need, ultimately finding them the loving, permanent homes they deserve.
Since 1946, we have proudly served as a central hub for animal welfare in Central Arkansas. As a 501(c)3 non-profit that receives no city, county, or state funding, we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters to continue our mission of hope and healing.
We operate a private, no-kill shelter that houses approximately 200 animals at a time, providing a safe harbor for pets rescued from overcrowded agencies, injury, or neglect. Our dedicated in-house veterinary staff treats each animal with personalized care, ensuring they are healthy and ready for their next chapter before joining a new family.
Adopting is a life-changing commitment, and we believe in the importance of finding the perfect match between our animals and your unique lifestyle. Our thorough adoption process, which includes applications and interviews, is designed to ensure that both you and your new companion are set up for a lifetime of safety, joy, and mutual happiness.
Your new best friend is waiting to meet you! We invite you to explore our current list of adoptable dogs and cats online or visit us at our facility in Little Rock, Wednesday through Sunday. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals throughout our community.
