Our Mission
The Stone County Humane Society is dedicated to finding loving homes for stray and unwanted animals while promoting responsible pet ownership through spaying, neutering, and community education. We strive to create a community where every animal is treated with respect and kindness.
Our Story
Founded in 1999, we began as a small group committed to helping local animals. Over the years, thanks to our dedicated volunteers and generous donors, we have grown into a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has operated our own purpose-built shelter since 2016 to better serve our four-legged friends.
How We Operate
We are proud to be a no-kill shelter, ensuring that every animal in our care receives the time and treatment they need. By maintaining a steady inventory of 25 dogs and 25 cats, we provide personalized daily care and social interaction to help our residents prepare for their forever homes. Because we are an independent facility, our work is sustained by the heartfelt support of our community members and visitors.
