Stone County Humane Society Inc.
Our Mission
At the Stone County Humane Society, our mission is to find loving forever homes for stray and unwanted animals while promoting kindness and responsible pet ownership throughout our community. We are dedicated to creating a world where every animal is treated with the respect and care they deserve.
Our History and Heart
Established in 1999, our organization grew from a shared vision to provide a safe haven for animals in need. Through the unwavering support of our community, we moved from foster-based operations to the opening of our permanent 3,500 square-foot shelter facility in 2016, which includes a dedicated Cat Cottage and spacious outdoor kennels.
A Dedicated Haven
As a no-kill shelter, we operate with a commitment to providing quality care for all our residents. We maintain a steady capacity of 25 dogs and 25 cats, ensuring each animal receives the attention, socialization, and medical treatment they need while waiting for their perfect match. Our daily operations are powered by a compassionate team and a dedicated board of volunteers who ensure our shelter remains a place of healing and hope.
Building Lifelong Friendships
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect companion to complete your family. Because we truly value these animals, we use a thoughtful adoption process to ensure every pet finds the right home where they can thrive. When you adopt from us, you aren't just getting a pet—you are gaining a loyal friend and supporting our mission of second chances.
