Daphneyland Basset Rescue
Our Mission
Founded in 2005, the Basset Rescue Network at Daphneyland is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving homes for Basset Hounds. We provide a sanctuary where these precious dogs receive the nutrition, medical care, and behavioral support they need to thrive.
Our Story
Daphneyland began with the legacy of a special Basset Hound named Daphney, whose spirit inspired the creation of a unique rehabilitation center in Acton, California. Our organization was born from a need to move beyond traditional foster-based care toward a centralized ranch environment where hounds could be properly supervised and socialized in a pack setting.
How We Care
We operate the only Basset Hound-specific rehabilitation center in the world, providing a safe haven for hounds from shelters, veterinary offices, and neglectful situations. Our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly on nutrition, leash training, and behavioral modification to prepare our hounds for their future families. If a permanent home is not found, we pledge quality-of-life care within our program for the remainder of their days.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
Adopting a Basset Hound is a life-altering commitment to a lovable, loyal, and goofy companion. Because we care deeply about our dogs, we maintain a thoughtful adoption process including applications and home checks to ensure a successful, lasting partnership. We invite you to get to know our hounds, as each one has a unique story and is waiting to share their life with you.
