At Agoura Animal Care Center, we are dedicated to advancing the well-being of animals and people throughout our community. We strive to provide high-quality, compassionate care while promoting the life-long bond between pets and their human companions.

As part of the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC), we are proud to be one of the largest and most progressive animal care agencies in the country. We are committed to serving our community with integrity, professionalism, and a focus on building a more humane future for all animals.
Our Care Philosophy
We operate under the philosophy of Socially Conscious Animal Sheltering, which balances the comfort of our animals with the safety of our community. We ensure that every animal in our care receives nutritious food, daily medical monitoring, and behavior enrichment programs. We believe in being a resource for pet owners and work diligently to reunite lost pets with their families while providing a safe, welcoming environment for those awaiting their forever homes.

8/28 - Bruce’s story a reminder of our responsibility to pets
The story of Bruce the dog touched hearts far beyond the local community. His legal battle stretched from Ventura County Superior Court to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and even to the U.S. Supreme Court before Ventura County Animal Services carried out a court-ordered euthanasia on Aug. 12. 10/10 - Meet Tony-#a5803677 @carsonanimalslaco @lacoanimals he’s a year and 6 months old #pomeranian #longhairedchihuahua mix who was surrendered by his previous owner due to behavior. He wasn’t a fan of the 1yr old child in the home. Hasn’t been on leash or exposed to new people. He’s currently kenneled with a few other dogs and is looking for rescue placement #fosteringsaveslives #littledog

10/8 - Meet Chevy#a5800232 @baldwinparkanimalslaco @lacoanimals a 15 month old #bullybreed boy who was surrendered by his previous owner. He was the “brother” to short king Caesar who was adopted. 10/7 - UPDATE-Picked up by Rescue 10/9/2026--Meet Selena-#a5804170 @lancasteranimalslaco @lacoanimals she’s a recently surrendered #canecorso just under 2yrs old. Yes, she was the mom of the Corso puppies we have. Selena was meant to be a guard dog but was brought in because the owners were moving. She’s overwhelmed here despite our best efforts. 10/4 - 25 dogs were transferred from Palmdale/Lancaster to Baldwin Park this week. 🐾 One shared mission. 25 more opportunities for a brighter future. Sometimes, helping means making room, lending a hand, and showing up for animals who need us, no matter where they come from. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about which care center they’re in. It’s about making sure they get the chance they deserve. 10/2 - Pumpkin spice season called and Slim #A5782995 understood the assignment. 🤎🎃☕️ With his warm caramel-brown coat, sweet face, and professional-level cuddling skills, Slim is basically fall 🍂 in dog form. He’s gentle, affectionate, loves his toys, is very treat motivated, and has plenty of young-fun-dog energy for walks and adventures. More than anything, this sweet boy just wants to be your best friend. It’s hard not to melt when he looks into your eyes. 🥹 Slim came to @agouraanimalslaco extremely underweight and unsure, but with medical care, good food, patience, and lots of play, toys and love, he has come such a long way. A huge thank you to @1510foundation for helping us fund the medical care that gave him the chance to heal and thrive.
