New Beginnings for Animals
Giving Second Chances
New Beginnings for Animals is a dedicated, all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit committed to saving abandoned dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters throughout California. Our mission is to ensure that every animal we rescue receives the love, medical care, and permanent home they deserve.
Our History and Mission
Since our founding in 2000, we have successfully rescued, rehabilitated, and adopted out over 4,500 dogs and cats. Based in Mission Viejo, our organization was created to provide a lifeline for animals who often face slim chances of survival due to illness, injury, or simply a lack of available kennel space in traditional facilities.
How We Provide Care
We are a compassionate, all-volunteer team supported by four board members and over 30 dedicated volunteers. Every animal in our care is examined by a licensed veterinarian, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped before joining a family. Our rescues are either placed in loving foster homes or boarded with veterinary professionals, ensuring they are healthy, well-socialized, and ready for their new life.
A Meaningful Match
We believe that every animal is unique, which is why we carefully evaluate temperaments and work with professional trainers to address behavioral needs. Our adoption process focuses on finding the perfect fit for both the pet and your lifestyle, ensuring a lasting, joyful partnership for years to come. We are committed to the welfare of our animals for their entire lives, fostering a community built on trust and mutual care.
