The County of San Diego Department of Animal Services is dedicated to protecting the health, safety, and welfare of both people and animals. We strive to provide compassionate care for the thousands of lost, homeless, and abandoned animals that come through our doors each year.

We provide comprehensive veterinary care and shelter for animals in need, supported by a dedicated team and a robust foster program that helps our pets thrive while they wait for their forever homes. Our shelters, located in Carlsbad and Bonita, serve as a safe haven where animals receive medical attention and daily support. We are proud of our progress in the 'Getting to Zero' program, which works to ensure that no healthy or treatable animal is euthanized.
