Burbank Animal Shelter
Our Mission
At the Burbank Animal Shelter, we are dedicated to reuniting lost pets with their families and finding loving forever homes for every animal in our care. Our mission is to eliminate animal suffering through consistent spay and neuter efforts and by fostering a community that values the humane treatment of every animal.
A History of Care
Our commitment to Burbank’s animals has deep roots, with the shelter providing quality animal control services since the 1950s. Over the decades, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our city, working tirelessly to manage animal overpopulation while serving as a compassionate resource for pet owners.
How We Operate
We believe in the power of professional care and community collaboration to provide the best outcomes for our animals. Our shelter serves as a central hub for animal services, where our dedicated team provides a safe environment for dogs, cats, and various other pets, including birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. We also utilize a robust foster network, allowing many of our animals to thrive in home settings until they find their perfect match.
The Joy of Adoption
Choosing to adopt is a beautiful way to welcome a new companion into your life, and we are here to ensure that transition is as joyful as possible. Whether you are looking for a loyal dog, a curious cat, or a unique exotic pet, we strive to provide the transparency and support you need to make an informed, heartfelt decision. Our high live release rate of 91% reflects our commitment to ensuring that every animal receives the opportunity for a long, happy life.
