The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA is a local, private non-profit organization dedicated to building healthy relationships between people and animals through compassion and care.
Why We Are Here
Since our founding, we have served as a vital resource for our community, providing safety and support for animals in need. We are an open-admission shelter, meaning we accept all pets regardless of age, size, or species, and we extend that same care to injured and orphaned native wildlife.
How We Help
We believe every animal deserves a second chance. While we proudly find homes for 100% of our healthy, adoptable dogs and cats each year, we also go the extra mile through our Hope Program, which provides specialized care for animals that arrive sick, injured, or too young to survive on their own. Our work is supported entirely by the generosity of our local community, ensuring every donation stays right here to help the animals in our neighborhood.

Although I am relatively small now, I am the 3rd largest tortoise species in the world, so I can get up to 200 lbs and live over 100 years! 10/8 - Our emcee and auctioneer, Liam Mayclem, and adoptable dog, Buccie (adopted!), want to tell you all about our A Home for the Holidays Gala! Our annual paw-liday fundraiser will be at the Crowne Plaza in Foster City on Saturday, November 7 at 6pm. Join us as we raise funds to help our shelter animals find their cozy home for the holidays.
