The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA is dedicated to building healthy relationships between people and animals through rescue, care, and education. We provide compassionate support for our local community, ensuring every animal in our care receives the medical and behavioral attention they deserve.
As a local, independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are not affiliated with and receive no funding from any national organizations. Every donation made to us stays right here in our community to help local animals in need. We are proud to be an open-admission shelter, welcoming animals regardless of their age, size, or species.
Our commitment to life-saving care is absolute. We find homes for 100% of the healthy, adoptable dogs and cats in our care, while our charitably funded Hope Program provides essential medical and supportive care for thousands of animals who arrive injured, orphaned, or sick. Beyond our shelter walls, we offer a wide range of services including low-cost spay and neuter clinics, wildlife rehabilitation, and public education programs to address the root causes of animal overpopulation and neglect.
We believe that finding a new companion should be a joyful, collaborative experience. Our Adoption Counselors are here to guide you through a thoughtful matching process, ensuring that your new pet’s personality and energy level align perfectly with your lifestyle and home environment. Because we know each animal’s unique history and needs, we are able to create lasting, successful partnerships that bring happiness to both you and your new family member.
Are you ready to find your forever friend? We invite you to visit our Center for Compassion in Burlingame to meet our wonderful animals currently waiting for a loving home. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer your time, or donate to support our programs, your involvement directly transforms lives in our community.
