Our Mission
Founded in 1992, the Benevolent Animal Rescue Committee (BARC) is dedicated to controlling the pet population and finding the best possible forever homes for abandoned animals. We are passionate about giving dogs and cats a second chance at a happy, healthy life.
Our History
Operating as a 501(c)3 non-profit under the Oaktree Foundation, we have spent over 30 years rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for animals in need. Our organization expanded significantly in 2006 through a merger with Bear Mountain Dog Rescue, allowing us to grow our impact within the Inland Empire.
Our Care Model
BARC utilizes a dedicated network of volunteers and foster homes alongside our facilities in Cherry Valley and Lucerne Valley. Every animal in our care is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and receives professional attention before they are ready for adoption. We are committed to our animals for their entire lifetime, and we maintain an open-door policy to take back any pet adopted from us if circumstances change.
