City of Chico Animal Shelter
Your Community Animal Shelter
The City of Chico Animal Shelter is dedicated to the care and well-being of stray dogs within the Chico city limits. We believe in providing a safe haven where every animal receives the attention and respect they deserve while waiting for their forever homes.
Our Commitment to Chico
As part of the Chico Animal Services section of the Police Department, we serve our community by enforcing animal-related ordinances and providing a central resource for lost and found pets. Our facility is a vital community hub, ensuring that animals found within our city receive the care they need, whether they are waiting to be reunited with their families or preparing for a new start.
How We Provide Care
Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to create a welcoming environment, providing medical care—including microchipping, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services—to prepare animals for adoption. We utilize a blend of professional facility care and a vital foster network to ensure our animals receive comfort and socialization. This approach allows us to manage shelter resources effectively while keeping our animals happy and healthy.
Find Your New Best Friend
Adoption is a joyful journey, and we are here to help you find the perfect match for your lifestyle. By getting to know each animal’s unique personality, our staff helps ensure that every connection we facilitate is a long-lasting and rewarding partnership. We are proud to support you in the exciting transition of welcoming a new pet into your life.
