Humane Society of Del Norte

Saving Lives, One Paw at a Time

The Humane Society of Del Norte is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential care and finding loving forever homes for cats in our community. Our mission is to ensure every animal receives the love and medical attention they deserve while we work toward a future where the need for shelters disappears through responsible ownership and spay/neuter initiatives.

Our Commitment to Community

We exist entirely because of the heartfelt support and generosity of our local community members. By relying on donations, grants, and dedicated volunteers, we are able to operate our cat shelter and provide critical services, including low-cost spay and neuter programs for owned cats and dogs, as well as a trap/neuter/release program for feral strays.

A Caring, Volunteer-Run Environment

Our shelter is managed completely by a compassionate team of volunteers. We focus on providing a warm, nurturing environment where every cat receives individualized vet care, socialization, and plenty of love in preparation for their transition to a new family. Because we are a volunteer-run organization, we operate by appointment only to ensure each animal and visitor receives our full, undivided attention.

Your Role in a Happy Ending

Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we take pride in helping you find the perfect feline companion. When you adopt, your fee goes directly back into our mission, providing the resources necessary to help the next cat or kitten in need. We are honored to serve as a bridge between these deserving animals and the loving families who welcome them home.
