Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode
Our Mission
Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode is dedicated to improving the lives of animals and the people who care for them through rescue, adoption, and compassionate veterinary services. We work every day to prevent pet overpopulation and ensure every animal has a safe haven on their journey to a forever home.
Our Story
Since 1992, we have served as a vital resource for our community, helping families in El Dorado, Sacramento, and Placer Counties. We believe in building a more humane community by providing accessible care and support programs that keep pets happy and healthy alongside the families who love them.
How We Help
Our organization operates a main shelter and clinic in Diamond Springs, while also managing an extensive foster network and adoption partnerships at retail locations. Through the dedication of our staff and over 350 active volunteers, we provide rescue, medical care, and socialization to prepare our cats and kittens for their next chapter.
The Adoption Partnership
Finding your new best friend is a journey of connection and care. Our team is committed to thoughtful matching, ensuring that each cat or kitten is placed in an environment where they can thrive and share a lifetime of companionship with their new family.

Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our upcoming new shelter, there are many ways to get involved. Please visit our available pets page to meet your new companion, or reach out to us to learn how you can help us continue our life-saving work.

More opportunities to serve our community. And a new home that will allow Animal Outreach to keep growing the work we’ve been doing since 1992.
