The Humane Society of Imperial County is dedicated to enhancing the relationship between people and animals by placing homeless pets into loving homes, offering affordable resources, and providing humane education. We are here to help you add more walks, wags, and wet-kisses to your life.
Who We Are
We are a private, non-profit organization located in Imperial Valley, California, serving our community since 2014 with a deep commitment to our four-legged friends. Despite the challenges of being in a rural, agricultural region with limited resources, our team has transformed the shelter environment to focus on positive outcomes for every animal in our care.
Our Approach to Care
We operate a dedicated shelter facility where we collaborate with local municipal agencies to provide a safe harbor for stray and lost pets. By partnering with a vast network of rescue groups and focusing on expanded adoption and low-cost spay/neuter programs, we have successfully maintained a near-zero euthanasia rate for adoptable animals. Every pet in our care receives nutritious food, preventative medical attention, and the compassion they deserve while waiting for their perfect match.
