Rancho Coastal Humane Society

Our Mission

Rancho Coastal Humane Society is dedicated to the care of animals and the people who love them. We are committed to celebrating second chances by rescuing, sheltering, and helping more than a thousand companion animals find their way home each year.

Our Community Commitment

As a homegrown, private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we have deep roots in the San Diego County community. Beyond our shelter walls, we work to strengthen the human-animal bond by offering essential educational programs for kids and teens, as well as providing emergency assistance for pet parents in crisis.

How We Help

We believe every animal deserves a safe and loving environment. Our facility in Encinitas serves as a hub for animal welfare, supported by the loyalty and generosity of our dedicated donors and hundreds of volunteers. We also operate diverse initiatives, ranging from pet-assisted therapy to our community pet food bank, to support both animals and their guardians.

Your Next Best Friend

Adoption is the beginning of a beautiful partnership. We focus on finding the perfect match to ensure that every adoption is a success story for both the pet and the new family. By choosing to adopt, you are not just giving an animal a home; you are joining a compassionate community that values the life of every companion.

Join Our Mission

Are you ready to meet your new companion? We invite you to browse our current list of cats, dogs, and rabbits waiting for their forever homes. You can also visit us at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas to learn more, or explore our volunteer and foster opportunities to help us change lives right here in our local community.

10/9 - When crisis strikes, pets can be caught in the middle. Through Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s Animal Safehouse Program (ASP), dogs like Dimitri and Baron can find a safe place to stay when their families need emergency support. ASP is about more than a roof over their heads. While they’re with us, these companion pets receive emergency boarding, compassionate care, and plenty of TLC, because feeling safe, loved, and cared for matters, too. You can help make this lifesaving program possible: Donate to the Animal Safehouse Program Become a foster and open your home to a pet in need like Dimitri and Baron Spread the word about this important resource in our community And this October, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, @scenthound Carmel Valley is supporting ASP by donating 10% of proceeds from their Houndswell Grooming products! Learn more about how you can support companion pets like Dimitri & Baron through the link in bio. Because sometimes, a safe place for a pet is also a lifeline for the person who loves them ❤ #RanchoCoastalHumaneSociety #AnimalSafehouseProgram #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth #SupportSurvivors #SanDiegoPets
