TLC K9 Rescue is dedicated to saving, healing, and rehabilitating abandoned, abused, and injured dogs with tender loving care. We work tirelessly to give these precious souls a second chance at a happy, healthy life.
Founded by Suzanne Mikhail, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit has spent the last 40 years committed to rescuing dogs in need throughout San Diego County and beyond. Our heart beats for those who have been forgotten, whether they were abandoned in local shelters or struggling as homeless street dogs.
As an all-volunteer organization, we operate without a central shelter. Instead, we rely on a dedicated network of foster homes that provide our rescues with the stability, training, and affection they need while they recover. This nurturing environment ensures each dog receives the individual attention and medical care necessary to prepare them for their forever families.
We pride ourselves on thoughtful, thorough matching to ensure our dogs find the best possible homes. By working closely with potential adopters, we strive to align each dog’s personality, activity level, and needs with the right family, creating a lifelong, loving bond. We are with you every step of the way to facilitate a successful, joyful transition.
Whether you are looking to adopt, foster, or volunteer, there are many ways to make a difference in a dog's life. Please browse our available dogs to find your new best friend, or reach out to us to learn how you can support our mission. We truly cannot do this life-saving work without the generosity of kind-hearted people like you.
