Solano County Sheriff's Office Animal Care Division
Our Mission
Solano County Animal Care is dedicated to providing comfort, care, and compassion to animals in need through shelter, education, adoption, spay/neuter services, and community outreach.
Serving Our Community
We proudly serve the seven cities of Solano County—Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, and Vallejo—by caring for stray, injured, abandoned, and unwanted animals. Our team is deeply devoted to the welfare of every animal in our region and to the residents who care for them.
Our Commitment to Care
Our shelter in Fairfield serves as a hub of compassion, featuring dedicated cat and dog adoption areas and a low-cost clinic for essential services like vaccinations, microchipping, and licensing. We are actively working toward a common goal of increasing our live release rate, improving animal-to-owner reunifications, and decreasing euthanasia to ensure the best possible outcomes for our furry friends.
Finding Your New Best Friend
We believe that every animal deserves a loving home and a fresh start. Whether you are looking to adopt or seeking support for a pet in your current home, our team is here to guide you with transparency and kindness through every step of the journey.
Join Our Mission
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to stop by our shelter to visit our animals or explore our upcoming adoption events and social media pages. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for the animals that share our lives and our community.
