Our Mission
Coastal German Shepherd Rescue of Southern California is a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to giving German Shepherds a second chance at a happy life. We exist to rescue these intelligent, loyal dogs and place them in loving, permanent homes where they can thrive.
Our Story
Founded in 2004, we were created to serve communities across San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, and the Inland Empire. Our passion for these dogs is driven by the need to support German Shepherds who have been abandoned, neglected, or relinquished by their owners, ensuring they have the opportunity to live the lives they deserve.
How We Operate
We are an all-volunteer, no-kill organization that operates without paid employees. Your generous, tax-deductible donations directly provide the medical care, nourishment, and essential support our rescue dogs need as we work to find them the perfect families.
Your Adoption Journey
We are committed to finding the best match for both the dog and the adopter, which is why we guide you through a thoughtful process including an online application, a phone interview, and a home visit. We believe that by adopting, you are not just getting a new companion, but truly giving a deserving dog a fresh start.
