Pets and Pals
Our Mission
At Pets & Pals Animal Shelter, our mission is to provide every animal with a second chance at finding their forever home. We believe every pet has a story, and we are dedicated to helping them write a happy new chapter.
A Legacy of Compassion
Founded in 1950 by Gladys Sargent and located in the City of Lathrop since 1985, we have proudly served our community for over 30 years as a non-profit, no-kill shelter. Our enduring goal is to assist homeless pets while promoting spay and neuter efforts to reduce pet overpopulation.
Providing Comfort and Care
We treat our guests with the utmost respect, ensuring their stay is as comfortable as possible while they wait for their new families. Our dogs enjoy spacious indoor/outdoor kennels with heated floors in winter and cooling features for the summer, along with daily play groups in yards complete with swimming pools and shade trees.
The Perfect Match
We use a thoughtful application and screening process to help us find the best possible fit for both our animals and potential adopters, which helps reduce the risk of shelter returns. By taking the time to understand each pet’s unique personality, temperament, and history, we ensure every adoption is a successful and joyful partnership for a lifetime.
