Our Mission
At FieldHaven Feline Center, we are dedicated to engaging and empowering communities to ensure every cat has a safe place to live. Our guiding philosophy is simple: for every cat in need, there is a solution.
Our Story
What began in 2003 with a barn and a handful of feral cats in a small trailer has grown into a progressive, non-profit leader in feline welfare. Recognizing that the community's needs were expanding, we opened a state-of-the-art shelter in 2011, designed to improve the health, safety, and adoptability of the rescued cats in our care.
How We Help
As the Greater Sacramento area’s leading cat and kitten specialists, we operate an adoption-driven facility where cats roam freely in indoor/outdoor community rooms and suites. We leverage a robust network of foster families to expand our capacity, while our specialized programs—including the Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) and community outreach teams—provide vital support for cats and their caregivers.

10/2 - 💕 Just Look at Bella Mia! 💕 Formerly known as Spryte, this sweet girl is now Bella Mia—and she has clearly landed exactly where she belongs. 🥹❤️ Her foster mom, Rebecca, made this adorable video, and we just had to share it because… LOOK AT HER. 😍 Even better? Rebecca is what we lovingly call a foster fail (really, a foster win) because today, we're making Bella Mia's adoption official! 🥰 We love seeing our cats settle into their new lives, and Bella Mia looks pretty darn happy with hers. ❤️🐾 Thank you, Rebecca, for giving this girl such a wonderful home—and for sharing this sweet glimpse of Bella Mia with all of us! 9/22 - 🖤⚡ WATCH THIS VIDEO. 🖤 Meet Lightning & Onyx—two siblings who have been quietly writing one of our sweetest stories since they arrived in foster care back in March. Rescued from a feral colony on Maui, these two have been through illness, uncertainty and more than one big change. But through it all, they’ve had one constant: Each other. Lightning is the smaller sister with the big yellow eyes and a quietly confident streak. Onyx is her devoted big brother, a little softer and always happiest when Lightning is nearby. And now, after months in a loving foster home, they are doing SO well. ❤️ They bird-watch together. They play together. They chirp at each other. They explore together. And little by little, they are learning that people can be safe, too. They’re still shy. They still need patience. And they’re definitely cats who like to do things on their schedule. 😹 But their foster family is seeing those beautiful little breakthroughs: ✨ A gentle pet. ✨ Choosing to stay close. ✨ A little more confidence. ✨ Even the occasional belly rub—when they decide you're worthy. 😉 Those moments might seem small. To Lightning and Onyx, they're huge. These are not cats who will necessarily race up and greet a stranger on day one. They're cats you get to know. Cats you earn. Cats whose trust becomes something incredibly special. And after watching them grow for the past several months, we know just how much potential is there. Lightning & Onyx are looking for a home together with someone calm, patient and willing to let this relationship—and their trust—unfold naturally.
