A Legacy of Hope

The Lange Foundation is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to saving impounded companion animals, preparing them for their journey to a safe, loving, and permanent new world. Since 1993, we have proudly rescued over 20,000 animals from city and county shelters, providing them with the care and time they need to thrive.

Our Mission and Reach

We believe every animal deserves a place of refuge and a future full of possibilities. Starting with our Halfway Home Kennel in West Los Angeles, our mission expanded in 2007 to include the critical work of supporting overcrowded, underfunded desert shelters through the establishment of our 4.5-acre St. Bonnie’s Sanctuary in Canyon Country.

Providing a Sanctuary for Success

Our commitment goes beyond rescue; we offer a supportive, cage-free environment for cats and a high standard of care for all our residents. By focusing on individualized medical attention and life-saving procedures, we ensure our animals are healthy and ready to join your family. Through our various intervention and safety net programs, we also work to keep pets and their people together whenever possible.

Finding Your Perfect Match

We pride ourselves on being matchmakers who care deeply about finding the right pet for your lifestyle. Our adoption process is designed to be transparent and collaborative, involving a thoughtful application and a home visit to ensure a successful transition for both you and your new companion. We provide ongoing support and tips, ensuring you feel confident as you welcome your new family member home.
