Animal Friends Rescue Project

Changing Lives, One Animal at a Time

Animal Friends Rescue Project is dedicated to finding good, permanent homes for abandoned, stray, and abused companion animals. We are committed to ending the pet overpopulation crisis through focused spay/neuter programs and community-wide support.

Our Story

Founded in 1998 by a group of animal-loving friends, we began with a handful of volunteers and a modest dream to change the future for local shelter animals. Over the years, we have grown from a small garage-based operation into a dedicated organization that works hand-in-hand with our community and local shelters to identify animals most in need of a helping hand.

Our Care Model

We are a foster-based rescue, meaning our animals are cared for in loving foster homes rather than traditional kennels. This approach allows us to get to know each pet’s unique personality, medical needs, and temperament in a home environment before they join your family. By keeping our animals in homes, we provide them with the time and comfort they need to thrive while awaiting their forever families.

Finding Your Perfect Match

We believe in building lasting bonds through thoughtful, education-driven matchmaking. Our adoption specialists are trained to consider your home, lifestyle, and interests to help you find a companion who fits seamlessly into your life. Whether you are looking for a playful hiking buddy or a calm, gentle soul to lounge in sunny spots, we are here to support your journey toward a new, joyful partnership.

Join Our Mission

Ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our adoptable dogs and cats online or visit us at one of our offsite locations. Together, we can continue to create a foundation of compassion and inclusion for both pets and the people who love them.
