Ohlone Humane Society
Our Mission
Ohlone Humane Society strives to inspire respect and compassion for all animals, advocating for their welfare while fostering a community where every living being is treated with kindness and humanity.
Rooted in Community
Since our founding in 1983, we have served the Tri-City area of Fremont, Newark, and Union City. As a volunteer-run nonprofit, we have grown from a small group dedicated to shelter animals into a comprehensive organization supporting both domestic companions and urban wildlife.
Our Unique Care Model
Because we do not operate a traditional shelter, we rely on a dedicated network of foster families to provide loving, temporary homes for kittens until they find their permanent families. This personalized approach allows us to provide specialized attention and socialization in a home-like environment, giving every animal the best start in life.
The Joy of Adoption
Adoption is a beautiful partnership that begins with thoughtfulness and care. By working closely with our foster families, we help ensure each animal is matched with the right environment, creating a joyful, lifelong bond between you and your new companion. We believe in transparency and support throughout your journey, ensuring that your experience is as rewarding for you as it is for the animal.
