Newport Beach Animal Shelter

Welcome to the Newport Beach Animal Shelter, a compassionate haven dedicated to the care and adoption of stray and lost animals in our community. Our mission is simple yet profound: to help every animal that arrives at our shelter find a loving home. Founded in 2017 by a group of passionate citizens, the Friends of Newport Beach Animal Shelter (FONBAS) was established to work collaboratively with the city to improve the lives of the animals in Newport Beach. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our founders and ongoing donations from our community, we proudly realized our vision by creating a permanent, homelike shelter where every pet can feel safe and cared for. The journey to our new shelter began with a commitment to provide a higher standard of care for the animal residents. After years of hard work, planning, and community support, our new facility opened its doors on July 28, 2023, welcoming our furry guests into their new homes for the first time. From groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting, we held various ceremonies and events, celebrating each milestone as a community. At FONBAS, we believe in the power of community engagement and volunteerism. Through various initiatives, including fundraising events like the "Dog Days of Summer," the "Howl-O-Ween" festival, and the "Clam Jam," we foster a spirit of camaraderie among animal lovers. We invite you to join us in our mission, whether through donating, volunteering, or adopting a furry friend. As we move forward, our commitment to providing exceptional care for the animals continues. Together, we can ensure that every pet has the chance to live in a loving home. Join us in our efforts to create a better future for the animals that enrich our lives.
