Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization H.A.L.O.
Our Mission
The Homeless Animals' Lifeline Organization (H.A.L.O.) is dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in East Contra Costa County through compassionate rescue, community education, and advocacy. Our vision is a world where every animal has a loving home and every pet owner has the resources to provide lifelong care.
A History of Second Chances
Since our founding in 2001, H.A.L.O. has proudly facilitated the successful adoption of over 10,000 cats and dogs. As the oldest and most successful all-breed rescue in our area, we serve as a vital link for families and pets needing support, ensuring that our local community remains a place where pets and their humans can thrive together.
Our Foster-Based Commitment
H.A.L.O. is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that prioritizes the comfort and socialization of our rescues. Rather than a traditional kennel facility, all of our cats and dogs are lovingly cared for in our dedicated volunteers' homes. This foster-based approach provides animals with a safe, nurturing environment to build trust while they await their forever families.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe in the power of meaningful connections, and our adoption specialists are here to guide you toward the best fit for your home and lifestyle. By working closely with each adopter, we ensure that every placement is a joyful, permanent partnership. Through our programs—including our Angel Ears therapy dogs and community education—we celebrate the unique, positive role pets play in our lives.
