West End Shelter for Animals
Our Mission
West End Shelter for Animals is dedicated to providing a safe, no-kill alternative for pet owners while actively reducing animal suffering through low-cost vaccination services and promoting spaying and neutering. We strive to be an excellent resource for our community, connecting people with their perfect companions while championing responsible, lifelong pet ownership.
Our Story
Our journey began in June 1954, when a group of local residents formed the Humane Society of Chaffey Community to address the needs of the stray population. Since those early days, we have evolved to become a specialized no-kill, non-profit center located in Ontario, California. Today, we remain committed to our founding values by serving as a resource for education, affordable care, and compassionate animal welfare.
A Dedicated Haven
We operate as a brick-and-mortar facility where animals remain in our care until they find their forever families. Under our strict no-kill policy, every pet is given the time they need to settle in and thrive without the pressure of time limits. Our team ensures that each animal is well-cared for, providing a comfortable, stable environment throughout their stay with us.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that adoption is the start of a beautiful, lifelong partnership, and we are here to make the process as easy and joyful as possible. Our dedicated staff and volunteers focus on understanding both the animal's needs and your lifestyle to ensure a successful, lasting connection. We are proud to facilitate these life-changing matches and support you through every step of your adoption journey.
