Our Mission
The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center. We are dedicated to placing rescued cats and kittens into loving, permanent homes while providing a safe, healthy environment for those awaiting their forever families.
Our Story
Our journey began over 34 years ago when our founder, Lynea Lattanzio, took home 15 abandoned kittens and discovered her true calling. Since that humble beginning on a 6-acre riverfront property, we have grown into a 12-acre sanctuary that has saved an estimated 54,499 cats and 7,936 dogs. Today, we remain a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, relying entirely on the generosity of our supporters to continue our vital work.
Life at the Sanctuary
We believe in a unique, no-cage philosophy that allows our feline residents to roam freely within our secure, fully fenced grounds. Beyond providing a home for over 800 cats and kittens, we serve as an active adoption center, facilitate spay and neuter programs, and offer expert education on responsible pet ownership. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure every animal feels safe, loved, and respected throughout their stay.
