Our Mission
The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center. Our mission is to provide a safe, happy, and healthy home for rescued cats and kittens, and to find them loving, permanent forever homes.
Our History
Founded by Lynea Lattanzio in 1981, our sanctuary began on a 6-acre parcel that has grown into a 12-acre haven for hundreds of animals. Over the last 34 years, we have transitioned from a single woman's vision into a dedicated non-profit, saving thousands of lives and providing a unique sanctuary environment for those who need it most.
Our Sanctuary Model
We are a true sanctuary, operating a no-cage facility along the beautiful Kings River where cats can roam, climb trees, and socialize freely. Our residents enjoy specialized care, including an ICU for those needing medical attention, dedicated senior housing, and comfortable indoor living areas. We pride ourselves on providing a peaceful, enriched environment where every animal is cherished as a lifelong resident until they find their perfect match.
