Pasadena Humane

Our Mission

Pasadena Humane exists to lead the way toward a compassionate and caring community for all animals. We are dedicated to providing support, care, and a second chance for every creature that comes through our doors.

A Legacy of Compassion

Since our founding in 1903, we have served as a vital resource for animals and the people who love them in the Greater Los Angeles Area. We are proud to be a community-supported organization, building on over a century of experience to ensure every animal receives the respect and protection they deserve.

How We Care

Pasadena Humane is far more than a shelter; we are a dedicated animal resource center. By utilizing a blend of shelter-based care, foster networks, and extensive community support programs—such as low-cost veterinary services and food pantries—we work hard to keep pets in their homes whenever possible. Our team provides dedicated care to thousands of vulnerable animals each year, from pets to local wildlife.

Your Partnership in Adoption

Adoption is a joyful milestone, and we believe in thoughtful, one-on-one matching to find the perfect fit for your lifestyle. Our adoption counselors focus on meaningful conversations, sharing essential medical and behavioral information to ensure a successful transition. We do not use interrogations; instead, we foster a welcoming, transparent process that prioritizes the long-term well-being of both pets and their new families.

Meet Your New Best Friend

Ready to make a difference in a life? We invite you to visit our campus in Pasadena to meet the animals currently awaiting their forever homes. Whether you are looking for a loyal companion or hoping to learn more about our programs, we look forward to welcoming you to our community.
