Friends of Plumas County Animals
Our Mission
Friends of Plumas County Animals is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to enriching the lives of homeless animals in Plumas County through compassionate care, advocacy, spay/neuter initiatives, and community outreach.
Who We Are
For 16 years, we have served as a vital resource for our community’s animals. We operate entirely through the dedication of unpaid volunteers who manage everything from daily animal care to shelter operations, relying solely on the kindness of donors like you to keep our doors open.
Our Care Model
We believe every animal deserves a safe, nurturing environment while they wait for their forever homes. Our shelter is designed to prioritize comfort and socialization, featuring cozy cat hammocks, activity gyms, and sun-filled catios that allow our feline residents to enjoy the outdoors. We focus on matching each pet’s unique personality with the right human companions, ensuring a harmonious transition for both the animal and your family.
Connecting Through Adoption
Adopting a pet is a joyful partnership, and we are here to support that journey every step of the way. We take the time to learn about our animals—from shy kittens to gentle adult cats—so we can help you find your perfect companion. By choosing to adopt, you are not just giving a deserving animal a second chance; you are helping us continue our vital work for the animals of Plumas County.

We invite you to meet our wonderful, adoptable residents in person at 1093 Lee Road in Quincy, open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm.
