Frosted Faces Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering the promise of family and comprehensive veterinary care for senior pets whose love and lives are in jeopardy. We believe that growing old is not a burden, but a privilege, and we are here to celebrate that journey with you.
Founded in 2014 by Kelly and Andy Smíšek, our organization began as a personal mission to support senior dogs overlooked in shelters. We quickly evolved into a dedicated foundation to engage a broader community, ensuring that aging animals receive the dignity, comfort, and connection they deserve in their final chapters.
We work in partnership with open-admission shelters to identify senior dogs and cats who are out of time and provide them with a soft place to land. Our transitional facility in Ramona, California, serves as a hub for medical care and behavioral support, while our robust foster network provides a loving home environment for those waiting for their permanent match. Through innovative programs like the Frosted Fling and Senior for Seniors, we make the process of welcoming an older pet into your life accessible and rewarding.
We believe in a conversation-based adoption process that prioritizes compatibility and long-term success. Once you bring a Frosted Face into your home, our Post-Adoption Support Services (PASS) ensure you have access to senior-focused veterinary care, behavioral guidance, and ongoing resources. We are here to support you and your companion through every step of your new life together.
Whether you are ready to adopt, foster, or volunteer, there are many ways to make a difference in a senior pet's life. We invite you to visit our facility in Ramona for an open house, explore our currently available Frosted Faces online, or join us for a weekend hike. Together, we are creating a more compassionate world for the pets who have so much love left to give.
