Pets In Need
Connecting Hearts, Completing Homes
At Pets In Need, our mission is to provide animals with loving care and lasting homes while advancing our no-kill legacy. We are dedicated to building a welcoming community where both animals and their human companions are treated with respect and compassion.
Our Legacy of Care
Founded in 1993 in Redwood City, we have spent over 60 years committed to saving lives. In 2019, we expanded our impact by partnering with the City of Palo Alto to operate their animal shelter, allowing us to serve more families and pets across the Peninsula.
How We Help
We work tirelessly to support animals by transferring them from public shelters facing space or financial limitations. By utilizing a blend of dedicated shelter facilities and a vibrant foster network, we ensure every animal receives the highest quality of care and attention. Our team of professionals is Fear Free Certified, using positive, force-free training to help every pet thrive.
Your Partner in Adoption
We believe that adoption is a joyful, lifelong partnership, and we are here to guide you through every step of the journey. Our team focuses on thoughtful matching, taking the time to share a pet’s behavioral and medical history so you can feel confident in your new connection. Whether you are looking for a dog, cat, or small animal, we are committed to helping you find your new best friend.
Join Our Mission
We invite you to experience the joy of adoption firsthand by browsing our available animals online or visiting us at our Redwood City or Palo Alto locations.
