Whis-Purr Rescue, Inc.
Our Mission
Whis-Purr Rescue, Inc. is dedicated to providing consistent care, shelter, and companionship to cats and kittens in our local community until they find their perfect, permanent home.
Our Story
Founded in September 2013, our 501c3 nonprofit has spent over a decade working within our neighborhoods to address the needs of stray, feral, and abandoned cats. We strive to improve feline welfare by partnering with families to provide resources that help keep animal families together, preventing surrenders and improving lives.
How We Care
We operate out of our adoption center located in the Peninsula Feed Store building in Redwood City, which houses both adoptable cats and a sanctuary for long-term residents. Our sanctuary program, recognized by the 2020 Jackson Galaxy CAT PAWSITIVE grant, uses clicker training and positive reinforcement to enrich the lives of our older, late-rescue residents. We also rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to provide daily care and socialization, ensuring every kitty receives the love they deserve while in our care.
Your Partner in Adoption
We believe that finding your new family member should be a thoughtful and personal experience. By operating by appointment only, we ensure that every potential adopter has the dedicated time and space to connect with our cats without distractions. We specialize in helping you find the right match, whether you are looking for a playful kitten pair or a senior companion, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
