Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center

Our Mission

At the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center, we believe that every cat and dog deserves a loving home. Since 1897, we have been Riverside’s trusted safe haven, dedicated to providing compassionate care and finding second chances for homeless pets.

Our Story

Founded as the Riverside Humane Society to prevent cruelty to animals, our legacy of compassion has spanned over a century. Today, we are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal shelter, funded entirely by our community, striving to address pet overpopulation through education and quality spay/neuter services.

Our Commitment to Care

As a limited-entry shelter, we provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every animal in our care. Our dedicated staff and volunteers offer individualized attention, enrichment programs, and full veterinary support to ensure every pet is ready for their next chapter. We believe in positive outcomes, ensuring no healthy, adoptable animal is euthanized for space or length of stay.

The Adopter Connection

We view adoption as the start of a beautiful, lifelong partnership. Our Adoption Counselors are here to guide you through a thoughtful matching process, focusing on your lifestyle, personality, and the unique needs of each pet. Whether you are looking for a playful puppy or a senior companion, our team works closely with you to ensure a successful, lasting connection.

Find Your New Best Friend

Every tail wag and purr starts with a second chance. We invite you to visit our facility in Riverside to meet our adoptable animals and discover the perfect addition to your family. Start your journey today by browsing our available pets online or contacting our team to learn more about our adoption process.
