Cats About Town Society
Our Mission
The Cats About Town Society (C.A.T.S.) is a dedicated, all-volunteer, no-kill organization committed to stopping the suffering of homeless cats and kittens. We strive for a future where every feline in the Sacramento area enjoys a safe, loving home.
Our History and Purpose
Incorporated on March 19, 1998, we were founded to provide vital rescue, protection, and support for cats in need. By focusing on rescue and medical intervention, we actively work to reduce the suffering caused by pet overpopulation in our community.
A Dedicated Foster Network
We are a 100% volunteer-run organization without any paid staff, meaning every contribution goes directly to the welfare of our animals. Instead of a traditional shelter, our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes until they are ready for adoption. This environment allows our volunteers to provide essential socialization and personalized care, ensuring every pet receives the attention they deserve before heading to a permanent home.
Finding Your Perfect Match
Because our cats live in foster families, we get to know their unique personalities, likes, and quirks before they meet you. This insight helps us create a joyful partnership between our cats and their new families. We are proud to offer a lifetime return policy on all animals adopted through us, ensuring that every cat always has a safety net and a place to belong.
