Our Mission
Jelly's Place is a non-profit, no-kill shelter dedicated to advocating for the lives and dignity of animals in need. We provide rescue, veterinary care, and loving placement for homeless, abandoned, and injured pets in our community.
Our History and Heart
Founded in 2017, Jelly's Place was inspired by a lifelong commitment to animal welfare. The organization is named in loving memory of Julie Bainbridge's beloved English Bulldog, Jelly, who passed away in 2016.
How We Care for Animals
We operate as a community-based rescue where animals receive care both at our shelter in San Pablo and through a dedicated network of volunteer foster homes. Whether they come to us from the streets or as part of our partnership rescues, every animal receives the compassionate rehabilitation they deserve.

10/10 - Halo is learning to catch! This little girl is amazing. She had a rough start in life, born with legs deformities which limits her mobility somewhat and make her prone to infections. Even with all of that, she is full of life, loving, and very, very smart. She's going to another vet specialist for a second opinion and estimate for surgery. She is only 5 months old and has her whole life ahead. Without Jelly's Place, she wouldn't be alive. We are grateful for all our supporters who allow us to save lives like Halo. 10/7 - Meet Goldie! 💛🐾 Hi there! I’m Goldie, a 3-year-old tan Maltese-Yorkie mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. If there’s a lap available, I’d like to be on it, please! I absolutely adore cuddling, affection, and being close to my people. I’m an active, happy girl with a sweet free spirit, but I’m also wonderfully well-behaved. I walk beautifully on a leash, ride like a dream in the car, and honestly, I’m pretty much a dream wherever I go. ✨ I’m great with smaller dogs and I absolutely love kids. In fact, I have that special nurturing quality where you can almost see me keeping a watchful eye on the little ones and making sure everyone is okay. I’d make a wonderful family dog and would love to be part of a household where I can give—and receive—lots of love. Cats, on the other hand… well, I’m not entirely convinced about them. 😹 They always seem like they’re up to something, and I prefer to keep my distance! 10/3 - Meet Gaspar and Tempo! Gaspar is an adorable, happy, affectionate and playful 4 month old pittie boy. He loves playing with other dogs and gives the best doggie hugs to his special people. Gaspar is a large breed puppy and is going to be a big boy when he is full grown. Gaspar would be a wonderful additional to an active family who runs, takes long walks, hikes and/or goes on lots of adventures. He needs a yard and another dog would be a big plus.
