Our Mission
Pedro Pet Pals is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting loving families with pets in need through adoption and fostering. We are committed to providing life-enhancing services and supplies to ensure our community's pets thrive.
Our Story
Founded in 2009, our journey began with a heartfelt desire to improve the lives of homeless animals at the City of Los Angeles Harbor Animal Shelter. What started as a grassroots plan to help local animals has blossomed into an enduring 15-year commitment, bolstered by the support of our neighbors and a generous grant from the Hyla Marrow Trust that provided our dedicated operating space.
How We Help
Our work is powered by a passionate team of volunteers who go beyond standard shelter budgets to fund essential supplies and lifesaving medical equipment. We operate through a community-focused model that includes active foster networks, adoption events across the South Bay, and our very own Hyla’s Cat Lounge in San Pedro. By offering spay/neuter programs and educational outreach, we actively work to reduce overpopulation and build a more compassionate future for every animal.

10/8 - Miss Gia! We love ya!! 💋🐈⬛😍 🖤 From a loving foster family with @robin_knows to our cat lounge, to adopted, to RETURNED 💔... Miss Gia is back and looking for her forever home where the playtime never ends and love flows endlessly!! 🤍 She's a little over a year old and has already endured so much in her life, with her tail being amputated due to an injury when she was younger. 9/23 - ‼️ URGENT - ADOPT TODAY ‼️ 🐾 Hocus Pocus is a 1 year old smaller 35 lb. Siberian Husky from Downey Shelter with the most amazingly piercing eyes. He has such a fun personality, loves attention, is incredibly playful and inquisitive. 🐾 This spunky young gentleman was the hit of our PetSmart Downey adoption event this past Sunday!
