Lhasa Happy Homes is dedicated to providing a safe haven and permanent, loving placement for homeless dogs in need. Since 2001, we have been committed to matching families with their ideal companions, giving these special pups a second chance at a great new life.
Our Story
Founded in April 2001, our organization began unexpectedly when our founder stepped in to rescue a dog in need and realized that small breeds were being overlooked by larger rescue groups. Today, we specialize in the rescue of Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzus, Maltese, and other small mixed breeds under 20 lbs. Our work is driven by the goal of providing education and care to ensure these wonderful dogs find the security they deserve.
Our Care Model
We believe every dog deserves to be treated like a family member, which is why we operate as a foster-based rescue. Our pups are cared for in private homes or daycare environments where they receive temperament testing, medical attention, and plenty of love. By keeping our dogs in home settings rather than public facilities, we learn their unique personalities and help ensure a smooth transition into your home.
