Humane Society of Sonoma County - Santa Rosa
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sonoma County is dedicated to transforming animal welfare through prevention, community veterinary care, innovative sheltering, education, and strategic partnerships. Our vision is a thriving community that deeply celebrates the bond between animals and their people.
Committed to Kindness
Since 1931, we have served as a donor-supported safe haven for animals in need. As a locally founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we rely entirely on the generosity of our community, as we do not receive federal or state funding.
How We Care
We provide a safe haven for animals at our three shelter locations in Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, and Petaluma. Our dedicated team is committed to the Five Freedoms, ensuring every animal receives respect, medical care, and the support needed to express their natural behaviors while awaiting their forever homes.
The Perfect Match
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and our team is here to help you find your very best match. Using a conversational, strength-based approach, our Adoption Counselors work closely with you to understand the medical and behavioral needs of our animals, ensuring a fit that brings happiness to both your family and your new companion.
Join Our Family
Ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to explore our available animals online or visit us during our adoption hours to begin your journey. Together, we can create a future filled with wagging tails and purring hearts.
