Sonoma County Animal Care and Control
Our Mission
At Sonoma County Animal Services, our mission is to provide compassionate care and essential services to the animals and residents of our community. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of every pet that comes through our doors.
Serving Our Community
As a division of the County of Sonoma, we serve the diverse needs of our region, including providing animal regulation and support services for areas like the City of Petaluma. We believe that a strong community is built upon the responsible and loving treatment of its animal companions.
How We Care
Our shelter in Santa Rosa operates as a hub of activity where our dedicated staff provide daily care, medical oversight, and enrichment for animals in need. We complement our onsite efforts with a robust foster program, which allows animals to thrive in temporary homes, and we work hand-in-hand with partners like the Humane Society of Sonoma County to ensure every animal receives the support they deserve.
Your Partner in Adoption
Choosing to adopt is a life-changing decision, and we are here to help you find your perfect match. Our adoption team is committed to transparency and support, ensuring you have the information and resources necessary to build a lasting, joyful partnership with your new pet.

We invite you to be part of our success story, whether by opening your heart to adoption, joining our volunteer program, or supporting our work through donations.
