Our Mission
The Seal Beach Animal Care Center is a non-profit, privately funded, no-kill animal shelter dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for every cat and dog that comes into our care. We believe in creating a community that treats animals with responsibility, compassion, and the highest quality of life.
A History of Care
Founded in 1986 by a group of kind and concerned citizens, our organization was born from the need for a local, compassionate shelter. For 38 years, we have been the only animal shelter serving the City of Seal Beach, saving over 20,000 animals since our inception.
How We Operate
As a 501(c)3 non-profit, we rely on a dedicated team of over 100 volunteers and 20 staff members to provide a safe, nurturing environment for our rescues. We focus on the quality of life for all our animals, ensuring they are kept as comfortable as possible until they meet their new families. By avoiding euthanasia for space or convenience, we prioritize the well-being of every animal under our roof.
