Our Mission

The Seal Beach Animal Care Center is a dedicated non-profit, no-kill animal shelter committed to finding permanent, loving homes for every cat and dog that comes into our care. We believe in creating a compassionate community where responsible pet ownership and kindness to animals thrive.

Our History

Founded in 1986 by a group of concerned, kind-hearted citizens, our organization was built to provide a safe haven for local animals. Over the past 38 years, our community-supported shelter has successfully saved over 20,000 animals, serving as a pillar of hope in Seal Beach.

How We Care

We operate as a privately funded shelter where our animals stay as long as it takes to find their perfect family. With a team of over 100 dedicated volunteers and 20 staff members, we focus on providing a high quality of life for our residents in a supportive environment. We believe in transparency and do not use convenience-based euthanasia, ensuring each animal receives the time and attention they deserve.

Your Partner in Adoption

We view adoption as a joyful, lifelong partnership, and we take great care to make the best match between our rescues and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a playful puppy or a calm senior cat, our team provides counseling to ensure a successful transition for both the animal and your family. We celebrate the unique personality of every pet and look forward to helping you find your new best friend.
