El Dorado County German Shepherd Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming German Shepherds and German Shepherd mixes. We believe that every dog deserves a future filled with safety, love, and care.
Formed in 2003 and based in Shingle Springs, California, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit serves El Dorado County and the surrounding regions, including Sacramento, Amador, and Placer counties. We work closely with our community, local businesses, and students to advocate for the needs of abandoned animals and promote spay/neuter initiatives.
We provide a supportive environment where our dogs can recover and thrive. By housing, vetting, and socializing these incredible animals, we ensure they are ready for their next chapter. In partnership with American River Canine, we offer specialized training and rehabilitation programs, including monthly pack walks, to help our dogs build confidence and neutrality in public settings.
When you adopt from us, you gain more than a pet; you gain a lifelong companion. Our adoption process is centered on an open, supportive dialogue, ensuring we find the perfect match for both you and the dog. We prioritize slow, careful introductions in safe, welcoming spaces to help our rescues transition into your family with confidence and trust.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our available dogs online or reach out to us at (530) 677-6444. Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or simply learn more about our mission, we would love to connect with you and share the joy of helping these dogs find their forever homes.
