Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue
Our Mission
Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of shelter animals through the powerful belief that Rescue Dogs Rescuing People can transform lives on both ends of the leash. We strive to provide second chances to both dogs and people, creating a community where compassion and accountability lead to new beginnings.
Our Story
Founded in 2009 by Zach Skow during a pivotal time in his own journey toward healing, Marley’s Mutts was born from a desire to find strength and unconditional love. Based in Kern County, California, our organization has grown into a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on rehabilitating at-risk animals while fostering growth within our local community.
How We Care for Our Mutts
Our rescue model is a compassionate blend of support, utilizing both foster homes and the dedicated staff at our Rescue Ranch. We prioritize stabilization, stewardship, and long-term sustainability to ensure every dog receives the veterinary care, training, and socialization needed to build trust. Through initiatives like our Mutt Movers transport program, we even help at-risk dogs find new opportunities for love and adoption beyond our immediate borders.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that successful adoption is about finding the right home for the right dog, and our team works hard to understand each pet's individual needs. By providing transparent, detailed biographies and encouraging fostering, we help you make an informed decision that fits your unique lifestyle. We are here to support you throughout the process and even after you bring your new best friend home.
