Paw Works is a Southern California nonprofit dedicated to leading, protecting, healing, and comforting those who cannot speak for themselves. We work to end the senseless killing of healthy, adoptable animals through community education and by giving abandoned pets a second chance at life.
Established on January 17, 2014, Paw Works was founded with a singular, clear vision: to help make Ventura County a No Kill community. We achieved this status less than a month after our formation, a testament to the dedication of our supporters. Since then, we have grown to rescue over 15,000 abandoned dogs and cats from across Southern California and beyond.
We are a transparent organization where 98% of every donated dollar goes directly back to the rescue, care, and adoption of our animals. Our comprehensive approach includes a rescue facility for decompression, a foster network for vulnerable animals like nursing mothers and seniors, and our state-of-the-art veterinary hospital. Every pet we take in is processed, bathed, microchipped, treated for parasites, and provided with high-quality food to ensure they are healthy and ready for their next chapter.
Bringing a new member into your family is a transformative experience, and we are here to make that journey as joyful as possible. By partnering with city and county shelters, we ensure that every pet in our care receives the medical attention and love they need while they wait for their forever homes. When you adopt from Paw Works, you aren't just finding a companion; you are participating in a compassionate mission to improve the lives of animals.
