Friends of Upland Animal Shelter
A Second Chance for Every Pet
Friends of Upland Animal Shelter is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to saving shelter pets in Upland and beyond. We believe in the dignity of every life, and we work tirelessly to find a loving, permanent home for every adoptable animal in our care.
Our Mission and Community Roots
As a 501(c)(3) public benefit organization, we operate the Upland Animal Shelter on behalf of the City. We provide this vital service as a community benefit, relying on the generosity of our supporters to care for lost and abandoned animals and provide them with the second chance they deserve.
A Commitment to Compassionate Care
Our organization operates under a no-kill philosophy, meaning we strive to save every pet that enters our doors. From our robust foster-to-adopt network to our specialized training, advocacy, and veterinary care programs, we ensure every animal receives the nurturing and support needed to thrive. By operating the 2nd Chance Thrift Shop, we help fund these essential medical and behavioral services, ensuring each pet is healthy, happy, and ready for their new family.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe adoption is a joyful, lifelong partnership. Our dedicated staff and volunteers focus on thoughtful matching to ensure each animal finds the right home and each family finds their perfect companion. We invite you to visit our shelter, meet our wonderful animals, and see firsthand how a small act of kindness can change a life forever.

9/22 - 400+ CATS NEED OUR HELP Yesterday, Upland Animal Services took in more than 400 cats from a local animal facility that is currently under investigation. We are now caring for these cats, who urgently need food, litter, veterinary care, medications, and community support. This is an overwhelming number of animals to care for at once, and we cannot do it alone here @friendsofuplandanimalshelter . Every donation, no matter how much, will help provide these cats with the care and compassion they deserve while their future is determined. Your year round shopping with us at @2ndchancethrift4uplandanimals helps support our mission in providing care for as many shelter animals as possible #animalshelter #inlandempire #upland
